I planted more pink Swan River daisies, since the first batch appears to have completely failed, and we do, finally, have some seedlings from the blue variety. (While there are two seedlings showing, judging by their size and shape I think they probably drifted over from the neighbouring compartment where I had sowed alyssum -- which came up very nicely despite being the dregs of an ancient seed packet :p)

The flax has popped up with astonishing speed; yesterday we had roots emerging, today we have leaves open already! And rather to my surprise, the home-grown basil seed that I sowed less than a week ago is also coming up nicely; it will be interesting to see how that compares to the 'lettuce-leaf' basil from the bottom of the commercial packet. In a similar vein, I have used the rudbeckia seed I harvested last year in one of the remaining failed honesty compartments, in order to see how it compares with the commercial crop, now that I have four firmly established seedlings from that. (And *only* four germinated, so fertility from the end of the old seed was definitely sub-par...)
