The good news and the bad news

The good news is that my bicycle seems to have magically thawed itself out overnight, despite a fresh coating of snow -- at least, the gear chain now moves in and out of the hub when you pull the gear lever. I haven't tried actually riding it.

The bad news is that the local greengrocer's stall isn't operating either (not entirely surprising as snow is still actively falling), so not only am I short of ingredients for cooking rabbit (I shall have to emulate Dick and Dorothea in 'The Picts and the Martyrs'), but I'm getting distinctly short of fruit and veg overall.
