The good news and the bad news

The good news is that my bicycle seems to have magically thawed itself out overnight, despite a fresh coating of snow -- at least, the gear chain now moves in and out of the hub when you pull the gear lever. I haven't tried actually riding it.
The bad news is that the local greengrocer's stall isn't operating either (not entirely surprising as snow is still actively falling), so not only am I short of ingredients for cooking rabbit (I shall have to emulate Dick and Dorothea in 'The Picts and the Martyrs'), but I'm getting distinctly short of fruit and veg overall. I've got one egg, two tiny potatoes, a few stalks of celery, one and a half apples, half a cooking apple, a couple of small oranges, half a swede, one and a half beetroot, and two cabbage hearts -- enough for a few meals, but no more.
I do fortunately have six boxes of frozen leftovers, which will basically cover food for three days, although some of those require vegetable accompaniment and I do need a minimum vitamin intake -- if I can't get any fresh food before the weekend I shall be in trouble. I think there is a florist up the hill that sometimes sells very expensive veg; I know they didn't have any potatoes the last time I looked...
