igenlodeLesson 25 of the Russian tele-course is another enjoyably creative one; of course it does help that here I already know most of the vocabulary ("behind the scenes", "dressing-room"...) :-p
In this film we again have the device of a child protagonist, but here it is a little boy going to stay with his grandparents, who are professional actors of the old school; unfortunately young Fedor unsurprisingly prefers cinema to theatre and football to both! But his grandparents are determined to convert him to the wonders of their beloved profession, and thanks to their privileged backstage access he gets some special experiences -- despite the temptations of the energetic football games going on amongst the other boys right outside the window...
Lesson 24, about hobbies, was pretty good as well, with touches of deadpan humour, such as the girl whose hobby is apparently collecting cars: she turns up in a splendid vintage car and informs the bemused presenter that she has about 100 vehicles in her collection, only to produce her latest two acquisitions: boxed models :-p (Soviet Woman tends to be car-oriented, as depicted in Рыжий конь; in Lesson 25 as well it is the grandmother who has her head under the bonnet when the car malfunctions!)
