igenlode: The pirate sloop 'Horizon' from "Treasures of the Indies" (Default)

I actually wrote a good deal (about three pages) on "Little Gentlemen" today, mainly thanks to the fact that d'Artagnan's arrival scene consists largely of dialogue, which I always find *much* easier -- but partly due to the fact that I got back home after successfully writing a couple of pages, only to realise that I had completely forgotten to include the planned 'crossover dialogue', for which I had gone to the lengths of writing out the relevant canon passages in two languages upon a piece of paper so that I could take them with me and include that material! So I then had to sit down at once on the stairs and try to fit that stuff in after what I had written, instead of, as intended, before; I did briefly consider actually *rewriting* the existing passage, but since I could see a way of working the material in at the current point and couldn't immediately see how to lead into it at the start of the scene, I decided to take the easy way out and go on instead of going back. The overall result of which is that I have unexpectedly more or less finished the entire scene in a single session, and just have the private dialogue with Athos to complete... which needs to include some kind of conclusion of sorts for poor Venya, who has currently been left very much hanging after being used as the lead-in point for a joke about d'Artagnan's famously limited English vocabulary :-(

Going by past experience, though, it will almost certainly take me another day or two to work my way to an ending for this scene and a transition to the other...

I encountered another Venya. Her full name is Venza :-)
