I split/potted up the largest of the towel-tomato seedlings, and divided the rest between two more pots; we have eight seedlings and three young plants now, which should be more than enough.
I also repotted the Roma tomato seedlings, but managed to damage the smaller one of the two in the process -- I only want one plant, so simply threw the little one away.
Moved some of the kale and the pak choi into taller pots to see if that would make them grow bigger, and planted a *fourth* batch of Swan River daisies... I also sowed some argyranthemum seed, but I'm not at all convinced that what I managed to collect last year actually *was* seed as opposed to just dead petals from the flower, and shall be quite surprised if anything actually comes up.
One of the overwintered California poppies has opened -- the first flower this year! The seedlings from this year are nowhere near flowering yet.

Date: 2024-05-02 08:47 am (UTC)We're hoping to start some tomatoes before long, but it probably won't happen until Chippenham Folk Festival - my husband's on the committee and it's eating up all his time.
I'm spending most of my time making morris costumes at present!

Date: 2024-05-04 10:23 pm (UTC)It might be a bit late to start growing tomatoes in May. I'm seeing people bringing plants home from the shops that already have flowers on them :O
