Tomato disaster

I managed to knock my second pot of towel-tomatoes off its perch on the narrow kitchen windowsill into the sink, thus snapping the stem of at least one of the emerging seedlings, although fortunately I don't think the larger ones were damaged -- though it will have set them back :-( At least one of the two that have still failed to split their seed-cases proved to have a sizeable root system underneath.

Emptying out the compost in this revealed that, again, the actual paper towelling had completely degraded in the space of a couple of weeks. So it really is 'compostable'!
