The Fate of the Narcissus

I emptied out one of the pots in which I had planted the narcissus bulbs, since there was nothing left in there but some dead (and headless!) poppies and some lesser willowherb which I have no desire to harbour. I found two rotted bulbs and one whole one, although if anything I think it had shrunk since it was planted, having made even less progress than the garlic...

Removed it from the pot to store in the dry over summer, since if I leave it in there it will probably rot like the others and will certainly get in the way of the root system of something else :-(
