This is within the last 24 hours. Now, one user went through reading several stories and leaving one kudos on each, which is nice but not completely unusual -- but what on *earth* happened to "A Child of the Law"? I can only assume that someone must have actively recommended it somewhere, given that this was a story that had only gained 20 views, 1 kudos and 1 bookmark in the course of the last six months...!

Date: 2022-08-04 12:23 am (UTC)It's nice to know it had an effect; people at fancake don't usually comment to say "I followed your recommendation" unless they're really enthusiastic about it, so it can sometimes feel a bit like shouting into the void.

Date: 2022-08-04 12:35 am (UTC)The other interesting thing is that -- judging by their AO3 listings -- most if not all of the people who were reading/leaving kudos were *not* part of the regular Les Mis fandom, or at least hadn't bookmarked or written anything for that fandom themselves. So they presumably came for the recommendation and stayed for the prose quality!
