I tried the experiment of using an cardboard egg-box as a seed tray, as recommended with the idea that you can simply cut up and plant out the individual cells in their damp cardboard once the seed has germinated, without needing to disturb the seedlings' roots.
Of course the people who recommend this are taking it for granted that you will be planting the same type of seed in all six cells — I tried to be clever and planted six different kinds (and didn't label them...) ( Read more... )
