Heating

More winter rituals; the central heating, set to bring the house up to 16°C at the start of the day, came on for the first time this morning (as I discovered when I reached for a towel and found it warm).
This means I have to go round checking all the things that have been leaning on radiators etc. for the last six months and making sure there's nothing there that shouldn't be... it also causes dilemmas with my habit of leaving windows open, not least the fact that the bathroom door doesn't shut properly from the outside; you can only bolt it when you're actually in there.

It's ironic that my first reaction was to think that it would be easier just to turn the heating down ;-D

MY window habits are very seasonal. But I always like to have the bedroom window a little bit open, even when I've closed every other window in the house to keep the heat in.

16°C in the house AFTER the heating is on? Damn, that's hardcore.
My bathroom door also doesn't shut from the outside. :D

I'm seriously wondering if I ought to turn the new system down, as I'm used to piling on extra clothes until the temperature gets down to 50°F -- my usual criterion is that when it's too cold for three jumpers, it's too cold ;-P
