Re-sowed the orange poppy, dill, nasturtium and chives, all of which appear to have failed without trace. (There may possibly be a dill seedling appearing around the edge of the pot, which tends to reinforce the suggestion that the seeds need light in order to trigger germination -- I scattered a fresh batch on the surface this time.)
I moved the rocket that was in the smallest pots up into a larger size, partly so that I could use the pots for seed and partly in an attempt to stop it bolting. Of course I have far too many rocket plants in far too many small pots, which is not particularly productive, crop-wise; the two seedlings that I put back into the original larger pot are doing noticeably better than the ones in individual pots. I like rocket in salad (it helps to liven up the endless cabbage), but nine small plants isn't a good use of space.
Removed one of the definitely-dead strawberry plants. One of the ones that *is* alive seems to have put out another far more vigorous not-a-strawberry offshoot -- I wonder if they are cultivated on a related rootstock or something? (But that can't be, as these plants were all runners from the original parent...)
Possibly I ought to abandon the attempt to cultivate strawberries, as I get very little usable crop from them and they don't seem to thrive. I would have said that the pots were too small, except that these plants never expanded far enough to fill the pots that they currently have :-(
