Project Waistline
27 May 2012 06:44 pmWell, Project Waistline worked :-)
Two weeks 'reducing' brought the bulge down far enough for me to play through an entire piece in the concert sitting down, without any unsightly gaping or wardrobe malfunctions: maybe I should try porridge for breakfast more often!
But I have to say I'm not used to quite that tight a fit....

Have you said what it is you play?

Date: 2012-05-30 12:15 am (UTC)I didn't actually lose a great deal of weight (in fact, on a quick check, I don't seem to have lost any at all, which is probably just as well when you're my size to start off with), but the requisite areas seem to have flattened out by the necessary degrees :-) In fact this is jolly handy, since as of that same week we started to have a heatwave and I had to switch over to clothing that hadn't been worn for some considerable period!
The last concert was the one where I was called upon to learn a whole set of songs at rather short notice -- this one was rather less stressful since I was playing not singing and merely (unofficially) leading the section, as opposed to standing up and performing solos.
I play second fiddle, since you ask :-)
I had the chance to hear a mobile phone recording(!) of our number afterwards, and while it was detectably amateurish (well, we are amateurs) it was at least not painful to listen to -- unlike the last amateur concert I attended :-P Also, the notable errors were in the wind not the strings :-p (Probably because they carry better to the rather tinny microphone at the back of the hall, but let's not worry about that!)

Date: 2012-05-30 01:06 am (UTC)Quite badly, at the moment. :-) The getting-up-earlier-and-exercising-before-work part of the program, which I was most proud of achieving, evaporated completely when winter hit. The eating-more-sensibly part seems to be still more-or-less on track, though. I still fit into all the clothing I gleefully ticked off being able to fit into again, anyway.
