Planted feverfew, honesty and basil (old commercial seed, in mini-greenhouse).

Both this year's and last year's chilli seedlings are now dropping their necks and germinating with enthusiasm, but that was pretty much what happened on the first attempt at the start of March :-(
On the other hand a couple of the 2022 vintage do appear to have got as far as successfully splitting their seedcases, which the original ones never did...

We also have a fresh batch of healthy seedling towel-tomatoes popping up in the second pot, in addition to the two from the initial flush of germination that managed to get as far as developing true leaves. The single seedling from the first attempt is now successfully hardened off and a decent size, with several sets of true leaves.

I have two Roma tomato seedlings, which is more than enough -- I tried manually cracking the seedcase on the third, but it still hasn't managed to put out any leaves, so I think this failure is in fact a symptom that the plant itself is defective, as cracking the seedcase on the original chilli was equally ineffective (I have now given up and thrown away that seedling altogether).
