Soak and Float improved smell

igenlodeI went to buy another bar of Lush's Soak and Float shampoo to deal with my particularly bad dandruff, the last bar having finally been reduced to a couple of slivers the length of my thumbnail. (At £7·50, it's not as cheap as it was but it's still good value for a medicated product that lasted me a couple of years.)
This shampoo used to be famous as the only Lush product you absolutely shouldn't sniff, with the results being on your own head; it smelt like a bonfire with bitter undertones that made you recoil reflexively in disgust. However, in the years since my last purchase they seem to have managed to fix this problem...
The new version actually has a not unpleasant talcum/baby powder-ish scent that you might actively want to sniff, instead of the old aroma of creosote and burnt socks -- although there's still something that catches in the back of your throat if you inhale too closely! A lot less apt to stink the room out when you leave the top off the tin to let the bar dry off, anyway.
It remains to be seen whether it's as effective as the old formulation at miraculously getting rid of showers of dandruff :-p
(I've never been quite clear where the dandruff goes -- whether it gets dissolved, or made flexible and stuck back down to the scalp, or whether it comes out in the rinsing water ;-)
