Ooh, here's an interesting little plot prompt I just came across (from an unfinished roleplay): https://www.rpnation.com/threads/the-phantom-of-the-opera-a-beauty-and-a-beast-guile-and-melody.23682/post-1681779
"Erik felt that her heart still belonged to the Vicomte. My efforts are futile. If he leaves America alone Christine will simply follow him... "
Raoul may try to 'leave alone', but would Christine let him?
To be filed for potential development (it takes the intersection of two ideas to make a story), along with the 'role-reversal' scenario in which Raoul, by the time he meets Christine again at the Opera, is already married to someone else -- though I no longer remember what the reversal in "All I Ask of You" was to have consisted of :-(
Maybe Christine was trying to protect Raoul's wife (from being hurt) instead of Raoul trying to protect Christine?

Date: 2018-10-27 01:17 am (UTC)I probably won't read it, though. I love your writing, but I refuse to acknowledge LND's existence unless it's absolutely necessary. I hate how that piece of shit assassinates everyone's characters...What have you been up to lately? I've missed you.

Date: 2018-10-27 02:15 am (UTC)The pleasures of writing for a canon that no-one (including me) really likes ;-p
But I'm afraid Angry Unhappy Raoul offers potential for me that Poor Unhappy Erik lacks; it was "Love Never Dies" that got me interested in Raoul in the first place, in much the same way that the fangirls home in on the Phantom because he's just so tortured and misunderstood (and they all know Christine cares for him really)...
I'm still writing Nautical Raoul (a.k.a. the Swedish story -- very slowly. I'm just trying to summarise the whole business of the starting of the engines and patching of the hull plates in a single chapter. So far I've got 12x500+31*300 -- about 15,000 words -- on Nautical Raoul versus 55*500 on Christine and Erik, and quite a lot more plot still to fit in until we see Christine again. But being written so very slowly I'm worried that it's inadvertently repetitive, and also that it's tedious and over-explanatory. Those fifteen thousand words have only covered the events of a week so far; Christine was shut up for a couple of months!
