Jack Monroe's Mustard Chicken recipe, on the other hand, was very successful. (And to be fair, her recipes usually are, which is why I went to the lengths of picking up the book and sacrificing another volume in its favour... although when I looked at it, I couldn't quite bear to discard the "Book of Children's Parties", which has a lot of 'simple foods' in it that look both practical and tasty, presumably the reason why I kept it in the first place despite having neither children nor parties!)

Mustard Chicken is basically a chicken casserole -- proportion of meat and veg adjustable according to budget: mine was one chicken thigh plus a lot of swede, leek and butternut squash -- with a teaspoon of mustard added, with the difference that you actually take the trouble to remove the solid portion and reduce the liquid down to an intensely flavoured sauce before dosing it with a sizeable portion of (cheap) yoghurt. Mine was a bit greasy since I had both the chicken fat and the frying oil, so I added a dose of vinegar as well to improve it, and it was extremely tasty... though not perceptibly flavoured by the mustard.

Rice, potatoes or pasta to taste. I had brown rice, which cooked while the casserole was simmering.
