Winter

The central heating came on this morning for the second time this year, and most of the leaves have gone from the trees; winter is definitely coming on. (Which, in the second half of November, is pretty much when you'd expect it.)

I have progressed from a microwaved oat bag in bed to a full-length YuYu bottle and bed-socks -- but not yet my eiderdown or nightcap, although the former would be a good idea.

I used to have the most wonderful feather duvet. It was light it was warm, it moulded to my body.

I loved it for three lovely weeks, and then realised that the painful rash I was developing might be due to a feather allergy.
It was.

My son now has a wonderful feather duvet.

Sob.

(I assume that was never a problem with eiderdowns, because they go on *top* of several layers of woollen blankets, instead of being next to the body...)

Yes, I had an accident as a child and I never had any problems.

It's been snowing on and off here for the past few days. My dog doesn't mind snow, but he's not happy about having to wear his coat.

Yep. I'm using voice dictation a lot at the moment and it occasionally gives some very odd results

I thought it was maybe lying-down-sideways typing combined with auto-correct... once I'd worked out what had happened! ;-)

It doesn't really snow here before January (and little more than the occasional sprinkling then). It just gets cold and damp.

I'm currently wearing my hat indoors because I didn't get round to taking it off when I hung up my raincoat, and the idea of taking it off now feels chilly :-)
