The batch of 2022 Demon Red chilli seed (sown 15th April) is doing so much better than last year's Demon Red seed sown on the 6th of April (for a value of 'better' that doesn't include possessing more than a single incipient pair of true leaves!) that I decided to pot up a few of the seedlings into individual pots -- or pot them up in pairs, anyhow. We shall see how they fare outside the mini-greenhouse as versus the more crowded remainder. I do hope this doesn't indicate that the second-generation seed is less viable than the first-generation seed, but hope that it simply reflects the later batch having germinated on top of the boiler...
Of course if all these seeds eventually turn into viable plants I shall have chillies coming out at my ears -- I shall have to give away some and harden my heart to dispose of the rest!
