Two chapters

After much dithering, and going to the lengths of constructing a combined HTML file of all the parts for upload, I've finally decided that I'm only going to submit the first part for the WA challenge after all, despite having put all the extra hours into making sure I had the whole thing ready :-p
I just think the whole section from the death of 'Erik' is contrived and *weak* in comparison with the opening; it would make for a very long competition entry as a single file, and I don't think its chances with the fandom-blind would be improved thereby.

I had already made the decision to upload the fic to AO3 as two separate chapters, since it doesn't need to meet competition conditions there. I was slightly miffed to find that it acquired 3 kudos and a bookmark in the first couple of hours after upload, thus illustrating what a difference it makes to upload a story about the one character whom fans *want* to read about instead of trying to cajole them by putting all my talent into the character they are not invested in...
