Calenduli, Calendula
28 June 2021 07:38 pmOne of the calendula seeds I planted last Sunday has germinated, thus demonstrating that they clearly are viable!
I also have a chrysanthemum flower -- very weedy and disappointing, since being yellow it looks remarkably like all the corn-marigolds -- fully open on the Smallest Chrysanthemum in the World, and the tomatoes are starting to throw out profuse numbers of buds, with the first of these opening too.
The towel-tomatoes are more advanced (having germinated earlier) but a lot smaller, but I am reassuring myself with the reminder that this may not necessarily be due to their inadequate pots, since one of the big selling points for that variety originally was that the plants were relatively small, and hence suitable for areas with restricted space... and that in fact this had been one of the reasons why I wanted to propagate them if I could!
