Hmm. I've been looking at my Swedish story again after taking a few days off to rush some drabbles past the Writers Anonymous Challenge deadline... and remembering just why I broke off at that point and decided to start rebinding the manuscript book instead:-(

Basically, I've got too much happening in far too short a time. Not to mention Raoul's Chekhov's pistol -- having introduced it into a plot at a point where it wasn't previously deployed, I've now got the issue that, given that he's keyed up to a hair-trigger tension, he's obviously going to fire it. Which isn't necessarily a problem, since under the circumstances it would be odder for him to hit than to miss, but is bound to bring Christine running on the instant. And the problem I've got already is that I have a whole long 'confession' from Erik that is supposed to be interrupted by Christine's arrival at the end; well, that's clearly not going to happen. It's not plausible. The dialogue's in the wrong order.

So I have to work out how I am going to fit all those lines in, especially the bits that depend on Erik's believing Christine to be dead :-(
