Excess and shortages (ii)

igenlodeI tried the supermarket again. Still no eggs or flour, but I did get butter. No dried milk (I checked in passing) -- which was probably just as well, since if they'd had any I should then have faced the ethical dilemma of whether to panic-buy it on the off-chance, despite still having more than half a packet left.
But what they did have was mountains and mountains of unsold Easter eggs. Very sad. They had them stacked up in at least three different places, including a literal wall of Easter egg boxes in front of the checkouts. Obviously Easter got cancelled this year (possibly due to people being lectured on social media about not buying 'non-essential' items).
I bought two (whispers) for 25p each -- a 'Made by Minions' egg and a 'Peter Rabbit 2' with Cadbury's creme egg inside. For a pound I could have had a larger and expensive adult-themed egg, although there weren't so many of those left over.
But in the absence of eggs and flour, cheap chocolate -- even if over-packaged -- is an easy dessert ;-p
