Thanks, but it's more a case of inventing things wildly on impulse (Raoul drifting around in a boat after a shipwreck) and then going back and attempting to rationalise them into correspondence with reality when it comes to actually writing the thing! (Really it would be better to do the research/fact-checking first..)
