The only bit I can remember just goes "Oh Kafoozalum, Kafoozalum, Kafoozalum, Oh Kafoozalum, because I fell off me donkey".
I've just looked up the children's songbook and it gives the verse, which sounds familiar:
I'm a soldier you can see
Just in time for a cup of tea
Now I'm out upon a spree,
Riding on me donkey.
The donkey is evidently an important element :-)
