I'd actually forgotten I'd dubbed it 'the Operation' (all for the sake of being able to refer to the 'Ghost of the Operation' in lieu of "the Phantom of the Opera" ;-p)!
I'm glad those sections worked -- your comments brought it home to me that I for one hadn't given any real thought to that element of the story, or to what on earth the 'resistance' was actually supposed to achieve :-(
