The obvious assumption for Thomas and Lucille's relationship, of course, given their history of travelling around Europe entrapping single women, would be the one that Edith herself immediately jumps to: that Lucille is his real lover/wife and only posing as his sister so that they can play out their charade of eligible bachelorhood...
