Plant update
The poached-egg plants are now in full bloom! (accompanied by nasturtiums)

And the marigolds are just beginning to come out, although they are not really golden yet.

The flax has yet to flower, although it is doing well, but there is a flax plant in the wildflower trough that has been putting out pretty blue flowers, and I think there are various other self-sown flax plants shooting up from various pots :-)
To my surprise I think I actually *do* have a Swan River daisy, presumably pink, germinating in the relevant seed-compartment, though the other two seedlings in there are definitely alyssums, and it looks as if there might be some more pink Swan River daisy seed coming very belatedly to life -- meanwhile the 'home grown' coriander seed is now flourishing and will need thinning out/potting up! I also seem to have an unexpected pink cornflower among the various self-sown seedlings that I have allowed to develop (I didn't sow any cornflower seed this year).
I threw away the second honesty seedling, which turned out to have barely any root on it, and finally got round to pricking out the thinned-out feverfew, keeping two plants. Even at this young age the leaves are strongly scented.
The single chilli seedling that I retained as an experiment from the 2023 seed after potting up the 2022 seed is showing every sign of dying, which is not a problem so far as this year is concerned (I currently have four vigorous albeit still tiny seedlings two inches high), but is somewhat concerning if it reflects an issue with the viability of the seed decreasing over multiple generations :-O
The last of the three old sage plants is now dead, after rushing into early flower -- presumably as a last-ditch attempt -- and failing to set seed. The replacement seedling is doing very well, and showing up by its vigour just how old and tired the original plants had got; unfortunately I only actually use sage once in a blue moon.
The original towel-tomato plant has now reached the mystical second-truss stage which means it qualifies to receive official tomato feed ;-) I'm a bit worried that while the other plants (and the Roma tomato) are all flowering they don't actually seem to be setting...
The miniature rose is not at all happy, and I'm worried that it is being strangled by the yellow poppy in the same pot :-(
