Chilli tag

I decided to add a chillies tag retrospectively to my blog (possibly I should do tomatoes, as well?), as I seem to write about them so often -- however it is likely to be of fairly questionable utility since just about *every* entry already tagged with plant-pots appeared to refer to chillies! I hadn't realised I'd been writing about them quite that much...

After working my way through the entire 200-odd list of posts tagged as being about growing plants, I ended up with 79 (at the time of writing) references to chillies amongst them. The tag probably *should* be a sub-tag of 'plant-pots', since they never occur independently, but it's rather a lot to type... and since there are very few posts that refer to chillies *without* also referring to other plants, most of those posts would end up with duplicate 'plant-pots' tags on them anyway.

Coriander, home and shop

I planted some coriander, one pot from saved seed and one from an old but unopened sachet of commercial seed that I didn't realise I had. Of course if it all germinates, as usual I shall have far too much...

The elderly commercial rocket seed did eventually produce some plants, although they are still smaller and less vigorous than the ones from the saved seed. But I hadn't realised until checking back just now that this is actually growth from a re-sowing after the first attempt failed, so in fact those plants are simply a couple of weeks younger :-p

I think we now have another honesty seedling coming up the side of the seed compartment, where I presumably jammed another one in after the first lot failed! The flax appears to be germinating already. And for the first time ever I have flower buds on my little bonsai holly, which germinated of its own accord back in 2019 and has presumably reached sexual maturity. (Does that mean that it's a female?)
