Be sage
I planted three more sage seeds back into the original pot (having first removed the inch or so of moss on top), since the self-sown sage plant that succeeded my original three is now looking pretty elderly in its turn. They are apparently perennial but very short-lived.

I don't use sage very much either, but I do have a few recipes that require it, and unlike rosemary it really needs to be used fresh. I actually did need sage as a flavouring recently, and the unfortunate plant is in such a parlous condition that I was hard-put to find enough leaves without feeling that I was endangering its existence :-(

But in terms of a full-sized bush it is undoubtedly tiny.
