He’s talented at both humorous and action scenes, delivering delightful depictions of these iconic

while they fly prop planes, escape shark infested waters or battle against pirates.

Also including Alfred Hitchcock, Christopher Lee, Ian Fleming and Jon Pertwee, apparently...
I think he means 'American icons', i.e. iconic in America. But now that you mention it, the cast is very... international :-D
(Not sure where you'd count Josephine Baker -- she was about as French as Hedy Lamarr was American, really...)
